Serial Link Encryptor
BabylonMETA™ Serial is an advanced,
large-scale, digital encryption device equipped with Serial
interface ports. It is simply placed in front of a data
terminal or WAN interface and is especially suitable for the
Leased-Line and Virtual Private Networking requirements of
large enterprises and Government agencies.
Innovative Modular System
BabylonMETA is the only encryption platform with
interchangeable interfaces making the system compatible with
all environments, such as ISDN, Frame Relay and X.25. When
the network's architecture is changed, the administrator
simply needs to exchange the interface card and update the
BabylonMETA firmware to the appropriate protocol,
without having to change the encryption main board.
BabylonMETA's modular concept minimises customer
risks by providing full investment protection and low
maintenance costs.
Encryption
BabylonMETA uses hardware-supported symmetric
192-bit triple-DES encryption algorithms for encrypting the
data stream. For every new communication session,
BabylonMETA Serial automatically generates a unique
key by means of the Diffie-Hellman public key exchange
protocol. Users can also define their own set of keys and
assign them to the different logical links.
Remote Management
SecurityManager allows authorised administrators to centrally
manage encryption keys, install new firmware and configure
devices. BabylonMETA devices support SNMP and
Syslog. Extensive monitoring capabilities about every
connection provide network managers with real-time system
status.
