"HotLink" BRI Inverse
Multiplexer
The OASIS 100 HOTLINK IMUX is a compact, low-cost device
that provides BRI connectivity for videoconferencing systems
and an assortment of application devices, including routers,
bridges, and gateways. Available in single, triple, or quad
BRI configurations, the OASIS 100 provides ISDN access
ranging from 56 to 512 Kbps. This makes the OASIS 100 ideal
for highresolution videoconferencing systems, which normally
require 6 B-channels, or 384 Kbps of connectivity. Other
important applications that have varying bandwidth
requirements are also easily accommodated.
Because the OASIS 100 is fully compliant with the ISO 13871
inverse multiplexing standard, it can interoperate with IMUX
units from any other manufacturer that also comply with this
broadly deployed standard. It is also compatible with all
local ISDN standards, enabling customers to deploy the OASIS
100 virtually anywhere in the world.
Ease of Use
The OASIS 100 is provided with an "ISDN Wizard"
that enables users to install the device within minutes. As
easy as the OASIS 100 is to install, however, customers
occasionally experience problems with the BRI lines from
their carrier. That is why the OASIS 100 offers easily
understood calltrace features that help the customer work
with his or her carrier to trouble shoot the problem.
Optional U Interface
In North America, ISDN connections require an NT-1, or
Network Terminator. The OASIS 100 allows users to choose a
U-interface configuration in which the NT-1 is built into the
IMUX, thus reducing cost and complexity of installation for
those customers who do not have NT-1s already installed. For
those customers who already have NT-1s, and for those located
in countries where the NT-1 is supplied by the carrier, the
OASIS 100 can be configured with an S/T interface.
