BRI/PRI ISDN Switch
The OASIS 2000 is a robust ISDN switching platform that
provides users with the features and functions customers need
to meet growing communications demands. An advanced ISDN
access switch, the OASIS 2000 provides user-to-network and
user-to-user switching. What's more, with full
BRI-to-BRI, BRI-to-PRI, and PRI-to-PRI switching
capabilities, the OASIS 2000 enables all dial-up users to
gain the access they need to support a wide variety of
applications. The OASIS 2000 is typically deployed in a
central location to support such important network functions
as ISDN premises distribution for videoconferencing and ISDN
protocol conversion.
ISDN Switching
The OASIS 2000 features one of the finest switching
architectures in the industry, enabling network managers to
leverage their network facilities for maximum performance and
efficiency.
For example, the OASIS 2000 can be used to provide PRI
access for a variety of application devices, such as routers,
gateways, and videoconferencing devices, simultaneously. In
addition, the OASIS 2000 can be used to set up a private ISDN
network for hundreds of end users located at multiple
customer sites – without relying on external service
providers.
By sharing PRI services in this way, network managers can
simplify WAN circuit management, reduce monthly service and
maintenance costs, and improve network efficiency.
ISDN Extension
In addition to ISDN switching, extending the reach of ISDN
to areas where it was previously unavailable is another major
application of the OASIS 2000. This is important wherever it
is difficult or prohibitively expensive to obtain ISDN
services at certain locations of a customer's wide area
network. Using the OASIS 2000 alone or in combination with
other DICA products, these sites can be connected using other
digital services. These include leased line, satellite,
microwave, fiber, ATM, and even Frame Relay. True ISDN PRI
and BRI services, therefore, can be provided virtually
anywhere in the world.
