PRI Access Concentrator


The 3000 is a cost-effective platform for providing access to dialed and dedicated network services. Functioning as a true network server, it allows dial-up and dedi-cated network customers to gain access to corporate or carrier network resources, thus providing an economical complement to expensive ports on switches and routers.

The 3000's architecture is highly flexible, allowing customers to expand its capabili-ties as their demands grow. Supporting speeds ranging from 56 Kbps to 1.92 Mbps, the 3000 provides network interfaces for ISDN, T1, FT1, E1 and G.703 circuits. The 3000 complies with the industry standard ISO 13871 (BONDING) inverse multiplexing for speeds greater than 64 Kbps on dial-up connections.


Channel Mapping

The 3000 has a comprehensive routing and a digital cross-connect switching matrix that provides a robust architecture for map-ping any DS0 to any DS0, switched or dedi-cated. The 3000 has the ability to map chan-nels based on the following information:
• Calling Line Identifier (CLI)
• Called Party Identifier (CPI)

Calling Line Identifier provides the highest level of security on the switched facilities. Options such as screening indicator filte-ring may be selected based on the applica-tion requirements.


Bandwidth Management

Paramount to the 3000' s design is band-width management. Whether it is simply moving a single DS0 or maintaining the integrity of a multi-channel application during a restoral process.

The 3000 has the internal switching and cross-connect capacity to accommodate all call types up to 1.92 Mbps. Users may select 56 Kbps to 1.92 Mbps per connection.
• Bandwidth is controlled manually or automatically
• ISO 13871 (BONDING) is supported up to 1.92 Mbps on E1 and 1.472 Mbps on T1
• 16 Mbps non-blocking cross-connect ma-trix allows any DS0 to any DS0 mapping.


Network Control

Understanding the importance and variety of network management tools in the mar-ket place today, Promptus has equipped the 3000 with an array of management inter-faces. Management can be accomplished in one of four ways:
• Command line interface
• SNMP
• Telnet session
• FTP (file transfers only)
